Transforming Addicted Organisations: Serenity to accept what I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can
Addiction:
persistently engaging in compulsive behaviour which the addict knows to be harmful.

Puzzled why change—positive change that’s been proven to work—doesn’t stick to your organisation? Your organisation may be addicted to bad practice. And, overcoming addiction is hard. Really hard. But there are ways to do it.

Your organisation must escape the viscous cycle of soothing short term pain by using practices that provide measurable short-term relief, yet do nothing to address—even exacerbate—long-term problems. Soon the short-term pain relief wears off and the addicted organisation repeats the practice that produced short-term relief. Before long, your organisation is hooked.

Can you support your organisation to get clean and stay clean? Yes. there are patterns for breaking this vicious addiction cycle.

Introducing Concepts

Is product development best done by letting people with a certain role decide what to do, or rather by allowing people passionate about ideas to run with it?

Can product development successfully happen in a multi team scenario without PO's and PM's?

Let me introduce you to Concepts (crisp.se/concepts) and share a story from a real case where we applied it to our product development.

Concepts is light weight technique allowing people passionate about ideas, regardless of roles, to drive new product ideas all the way to happy customer.

Insights - Unlocking Human Potential - happier people create successful organisations
Insights Learning & Development is experienced in designing programs and interventions to improve
individual, team and organizational effectiveness with “immediate impact and endless possibilities”.
We just love designing fun learning experiences and conducting team interventions for professionals
and experts with a huge and lasting impact. Our approach is very interactive, with humour though
focused and concrete. Today you all will experience a pressure cooker fun learning experience.
We specialise in improving interactions and relationships between individuals by providing a common
language for communication and understanding especially in international and multi-cultural
environments. Our work has impact at both a personal and organisational level. Insight’s work is
based on a simple model or framework:
• Understand yourself
• Understand others
• Adapt and connect to improve the relationship and your effectiveness.

The Insights Discovery System
Most of our work is underpinned by the Insights Discovery system. Based solidly on the work of Carl
Gustav Jung, it has been developed as a result of thousands of hours of research and development by
academics and psychologists. Its accuracy has been validated by research at a variety of institutions
including the University of Dundee, the University of Westminster and the University of Leicester.
At the heart of the system is the Insights Discovery Profile. Individuals complete a simple evaluator to
create the Insights Discovery Profile. So far, more than 2.000.000 individuals across the world have
received an Insights Discovery Profile.

Why does the model work so well?

The strength of the model comes in its simplicity – in terms of both its appeal and application.
Customers’ buy-in to the user-friendly and innovative way that the model is delivered and find that
the learning is easy to remember and apply.
Our model is so sophisticated that each person obtains a unique Profile, enabling recipients to
recognise and apply their unique gifts and develop those areas that can cause challenge, difficulty and
potentially hold them back from their goals. We claim immediate impact and endless possibilities.

Some of the problems we solve with our clients:

• “I’d like to change the way we do things here. I need to change the culture, and having a
common language and starting point would be useful to me.”
• “How can I help to build confidence in my people, to equip them to manage change more
positively?”
• “My marketplace is competitive and it is difficult retain the right people. How can I attract
the right people for the right roles and help them to want to stay?”
• “I’d like to see stronger cross-functional working. I want my teams to work more closely
together.”
• “I’d like my managers to be able to lead and coach their people more effectively.”
• “I’d like my people to take responsibility for their own learning and achieve more.”

Liquid Organizations: Anti-fragility beyond design
During more than 100 years of classic management, hierarchy oriented organizations have shown their limits. A new generation of enterprises is now moving its first steps towards a brand new way to organize and prosper. Liquid, collaborative, flat, responsive, adaptive and anti-fragile: these are just buzzwords as long as alibis keep hanging around. Based on our real experience, we'll tell our story experimenting with new radical ways to set an organization up.

How to collaborate without the need to compromise, submit or control others?

When people dare to be who they are, think what they think and act according to what they want, it generally fits well with what is needed in a team; otherwise it will be clear that people might change position.

During this workshop participants will start paying attention to who they become when interacting with others.

Most of the time these behaviours are a continuation of a way of being that we are used to being in the past, without having a new choice to be who one wants to be today.

The Grinberg method is an approach through the body that teaches to control automatic behaviours, to gain more freedom, self esteem, humility, respect of others and enthusiasm.

Applying this in the field of teamwork, stopping old habits of behaviours, will allow people to create a solid, strong and efficient teamwork.

Visualize Everything!
Today’s business world is very diverse - there are thousands of companies and teams, and each may have a unique organisational structure, different work and a unique (and constantly changing) process. Imagine, you need to make the right decisions, which often touch the stakes of different people, teams and departments, but how well do you understand how your team or company operates, how much work is there, and what relations, priorities and deadlines are out there? In case you do know it all, how easy is it to communicate this outside to your partners, customers, suppliers, process coaches or to your internal auditors? That’s a common yet not a trivial task, because every company and process are unique and details can be incredibly important. You’re so used to the process that those details become vague and hard to uncover.

In the “VISUALIZE – EVERYTHING?” workshop we’re going to explore how the Visual Thinking toolkit and some principles of Data Visualization can help to solve this problem. Experience has proven their effectiveness - no matter whether you work on a personal ToDo list or manage a corporation, whether if you're a part of technology, marketing, sales or executive team, and regardless how advanced your process is.

We will learn how Visual Thinking toolkit can help understand operational workflow, quickly dive into the process details and explain complicated things in a simple, visual way. We will have a look at some of the Data Visualization principles to get comprehensive data in order, explore and analyse hidden dependencies, and share findings with others. To make it practical, you are going to work with real-life examples from your own team or company. Be prepared for some interesting findings. Join our workshop and let’s explore together how to visualize everything, to make better decisions faster!

Join our workshop and let’s explore together how to make better decisions faster using Data Visualisation!
